Shoppers swarm Downtown Macy's before it closes for good

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Shoppers are taking advantage of the sales as the Macy's in Downtown Houston closes its doors for good.

Clearance sales began Monday.

Macy's announced it was closing the store and several others across the country in 2012.

The large building was constructed in 1947 as the flagship store for Foley's before Macy's bought it several years ago.
