Police say the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy appears to be a tragic accident.

Wednesday, a teen told Alvin Police he was with the boy as he was playing with the gun, loading and unloading it.  He told police the boy was holding the weapon when it fired, hitting him in the head.

The boy was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
