A woman who was sentenced to seven months in state jail for child endangerment has been charged with the same offense and remains in jail.
Melissa Ann Tamez, 38, was arrested on Dec. 21 and charged after she had consumed alcoholic beverages when she placed a child on his head in a stroller and did not take him to "a designated emergency infant care provider," according to a probable cause document filed in Harris County.
Tamez has not posted bail, which was set at $15,000. After she was also charged with child endangerment in March 2012, Tamez was convicted of the offense on May 2, 2012, and sentenced the same day.
