A high school tennis coach has been charged with sexual assault of a child and child pornography.
Taylor McClain, 43, a coach at Atascocita High School, drove two students from a tennis fundraising event in Harris county to a haunted house back in October, according to a probable cause document filed against him by the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
One of the students told Humble Independent School District police investigators that she saw McClain have sex with the other student in the back seat of his vehicle, according to the document. He then asked her if she wanted to join in but she refused.
The girl also told investigators that McClain sent her a text photo message of the other student engaging in a sex act. She then reported McClain to the police.
In addition to the sexual assault of a child charge, McClain also faces two counts of possession of child pornography.
The following statement was released Thursday afternoon by Jamie Mount, director of public information for the Humble Independent School District:
Humble ISD has zero-tolerance for inappropriate relationships between teachers and students. The district cooperates with law enforcement for the safety and welfare of our students.
Taylor McClain resigned Nov. 9 amid the district's investigation of allegations of a sexual relationship with a female student. Humble ISD took the additional step of informing the State Board for Educator Certification of the investigation, and his teaching certificate was sanctioned.
Taylor McClain began as a Tennis Coach and an English teacher at AtascocitaHigh School in August 2010.
