Holiday gift ideas for the board gamer

Posted: Updated:

It may look like an upscale furniture store from the outside, but Asgard Games' furnishings are more of the 20-sided dice variety.

There are no "Chutes and Ladders" here.  Instead, players throw down "Magic: The Gathering" cards and carefully position war game miniatures for their next attack.

Asgard Games owner Will Pagani offered these gift ideas for anyone looking to get into the big leagues of board gaming.

== Dominion Core Set ==

"This is a self-contained board game that is a great entrance into the board gaming world.  It is simple and fast to play, and is guaranteed to be a different game every time you play."

== Carcassonne ==

"This is yet another self-contained board game that is also very easy to play. It offers very simple game play but allows for many player choices to make."

== Warmachine ==

"Of all of the games we sell I highly prefer Warmachine over all the rest. It is a tabletop hobby game meaning model kits are required to play. You get to assemble and paint your models to personalize your game play, and the basics are still very simple unlike many other games. It is complicated enough to keep people interested for years."

Asgard Games is in the 3300 block of South Shepherd, between West Alabama Street and Richmond Avenue.
