Police are trying to determine what led to a shooting at a southwest Houston apartment complex that left a teen severely wounded.
Residents at the Little Nell Apartment Homes, located on the West Sam Houston Parkway South frontage road near Beechnut Street, contacted Houston police before 9 p.m. Sunday with reports of gunshots heard in the area.
When officers arrived at the complex, they found cartridge casings and learned the shooting victim was taken in a private vehicle to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. The 16-year-old male was then transferred to Texas Children's Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Police say the teen may have been involved in a confrontation with at least one person in a white car. That person or persons fled from the complex and police have not identified any suspects in the case.
