After more than two years at the helm, including some tumultuous moments, George Greanias will resign from his position as president and chief executive officer of METRO.
Greanias has not submitted a letter of resignation to the transit authority, but is expected to do so no later than Monday, METRO spokeswoman Carolina Mendoza told FOX 26 News on Friday.
When Frank Wilson resigned as CEO of METRO in May 2010, Greanias was named interim president and CEO. He was elevated permanently to president and CEO of METRO in Sept. 2010.
Greanias was suspended from his administrative duties on July 28, 2011 for violating "company guidelines on the use of electronic communications," based on a METRO investigation that determined he "accessed more than one dozen adult oriented sites of a sexual nature through the METRO Internet System" on his personal computer.
