A fight between two teen girls ends with a pair of parents behind bars.
Nicole Curtis and her common law husband Charles Pierce were both charged with felony of injury to a child after police responded to a call of a fight in progress at the Cuney Homes complex on Truxillo Street near Briley Street in southeast Houston.
Harris County Precinct 6 deputy constables say officers arrived to the complex only to find several witnesses and someone who had recorded the fight on a cell phone.
"The parents pretty much instigated the fight you know ... they were out there not trying to break it up, just pretty much involved" said Cpl. Roiton Phillips.
Law enforcement wouldn't release the video to FOX 26 since it is evidence in an ongoing investigation, but the footage was posted to YouTube, only to be removed later.
Just before the girls get into an actual physical fight, the video shows one of them is being encouraged and coached to attack her rival.
"Someone should've stepped in and said, 'Hey this is not right ... ya'll break this up,'" said Cpl. Phillips, but judging by the video, no one ever steps in or attempts to stop the girls from kicking and punching each other.
Eventually, property management called the authorities but by then, the victim had already been attacked and bruised. Wounds that some residents say they actually felt after watching the video.
"I don't know who's in jail, who's not in jail, but I will say this: anyone who harms a child deserves to go to jail and that's my honest opinion" said Tiffany Benford, a resident who is a neighbor to all parties involved.
