When it comes to the Houston Texans, many of us are asking Santa Claus for a Super Bowl season but one Pearland resident expressed his wishes in lights.
Clint Richardson transformed his front lawn into a gridiron, complete with goalposts at either end. Using holiday lights, Richardson outlined the whole thing, adding plenty of Texans logos all around.
"For the last several years, I've won Most Patriotic in this neighborhood with the red, white and blue lights," says Richardson. "And I've been a season ticket holder with the Texans for the last eight years. So I decided I wanted to do a football field."
Richardson says he was delighted to see a photograph of his Texans-themed holiday lights – snapped by his brother Lance – garner more than 34,000 "likes" on Facebook within 24 hours.
"It's absolutely wonderful with the support and the positive comments that they've posted," says Richardson. "It's been great."
He vows his lights will continue to burn through the night – in red, white and blue – as long as the Texans continue their march toward the Super Bowl.
