The climate in the Houston-area has felt unseasonably warm over a two-week period, but that will likely end Monday with temperatures falling into the 50s.
The 7-day FOXRAD Forecast indicates a 30 percent chance of rain on Monday with a low temperature of 45 degrees, but that is only the beginning of the colder weather coming through the Houston area.
The temperature is projected to sink to as low as 33 degrees, just above freezing level, on Tuesday, with only a slight increase in low temperature on Wednesday at 35 degrees.
Despite the warm temperatures, tree pollen and weed/grass pollen has not presented allergy troubles and mold spore levels have remained low.
Warm, humid weather will likely last through much of Sunday.
The impetus for the cooler weather on Monday will be a cold front moving into the Houston area on Sunday night and projected to bring storms and showers, but no severe weather.
Caitilin Espinosa says freeze watches and warnings could be issued for Tuesday and Wednesday.
