HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
Houston Texan Brian Cushing teamed up with the Houston Food Bank to help feed children in the city.
First, the star linebacker passed out free lunches from Bernie's Burger Bus.
Then, Boost Mobile agreed to donate $5,600 to the food bank's "Backpack Buddy" program in recognition of Cushing's jersey number, 56.
"To be able to have my number as the number that we're donating in money to the food bank is special and it's something cool, personalized it a little bit," Cushing said. "This time of the year is a precious time of the year and to be able to help everyone out when we can is a special opportunity."
The donation will help provide a weekend's worth of meals to more than 1,800 Houston children.
