Police are seeking help from the public to find a well-dressed jewelry store thief and someone who helped him rob the Baytown store.
The robbery was reported on Wednesday after 11 a.m. at Shay's Jewelry and Gifts located on Garth Road near West Baker Road.
Employees told Baytown police that the two suspects entered the store separately.
The well-dressed suspect approached an employee and asked about payment plans and began to fill out a credit application when the second suspect entered the store.
The second suspect walked toward the back of the store where two other employees were working, according to a statement released Thursday by the Baytown Police Department.
The well-dressed suspect pulled out a pistol, pointed it at a customer and ordered her to lay on the floor. He then threatened the store owner and told her to surrender his keys to the front jewelry display cases.
After getting the keys, the well-dressed man jumped over the counter and tried to open the jewelry cases but was unable to do so. He returned the keys to the owner and ordered her to open the cases. The owner complied with the robber and opened the jewelry cases for him.
While the well-dressed suspect was with the owner, the second suspect threatened the other two employees in the back of the store and bound their wrists with zip ties.
The two suspects exited from the store through the rear door with the stolen jewelry.
The well-dressed suspect is described as a light-skinned black man with a fade hair style who wore silver frame eyeglasses, stands at an approximate height of 5-feet 11-inches. He has a thin build, is clean-shaven, and wore a long-sleeved beige shirt with a tie and brown pants.
The second suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion who stands at a height of approximately 6-feet tall with a muscular build. He is unshaven with a medium style haircut who wore a pullover long-sleeved mustard colored South Pole brand shirt with green stripes and baggy dark-colored jeans.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Baytown Police Department by phone at 281-422-8371 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 281-427-TIPS.
