HPD Chief invites DOJ to be 'transparent'

Posted: Updated:
HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

The US Department of Justice is reviewing several controversial cases involving Houston Police officers.

HPD Chief Charles McClelland said he invited the DOJ to look into at least seven cases, including the alleged beating of teenaged burglary suspect Chad Holley, the deadly shooting of a double amputee, and the shooting of an unarmed man earlier this year.

McClelland said inviting the DOJ in is part of his pledge to always be open and transparent.
