
City of Richmond photoThe longest-serving city mayor in Texas history has died after more than 63 years in office.
Teri Vela, city manager for the City of Richmond, described Hilmar Moore as "admired and respected by so many people across the United States, as well as Internationally."
Moore died Tuesday night at the age of 92.
"The City has lost a great Man, who with his leadership for the past 63 years, has led the City to become such a vibrant, respected city today," said Vela in a statement released on Wednesday. "The City is so fortunate to be associated with him over the last 63 years."
A cause of death was not revealed in the statement.
