Houston Texans second-year cornerback Brandon Harris made a split-second decision on Thanksgiving day and because of that decision he may be the one doing all of the giving.
Harris was fined $21,000 this week for his hit on Detroit Lions return specialist Stefan Logan in the Texans 34-31 win in overtime.
"They flagged me for unnecessary roughness on a defenseless player," Harris said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.
"They said I took a shot to the head. They fined me $21 grand.
Harris was caught off guard by how much he was fined.
"First time out the gate, first offense," Harris said. "Was a little shocked, appeal it and see what happens."
"I wasn't surprised that they fined me. I was surprised at how much the fine was, being I'm a young player and that was the first offense. I barely even play."
In fact that was only the third game Harris has played in all season.
"I get out there, I get a $21,000 fine," Harris said. "Pretty much took my whole check for two weeks."
