HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
More than 58,000 Christmas cards are on their way from Baytown, Texas to our troops overseas.
The cards were loaded into SUVs Tuesday morning at the Baytown Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber organized the project and encouraged school kids to design the cards and write messages on them.
The "Baytown Christmas Cards for Troops" project began several years ago and has turned into a community tradition.
The Christmas card project for troops is sponsored by Houston-area Congressman Ted Poe.
