Embattled Harris County Precinct Six Constable Victor Trevino is thanking his supporters as he fights serious charges.
This is his first time speaking out since he was indicted on four charges related to abuse of power and misuse of funds for the non-profit organization, Care.
Harris County Judge Ed Emmett wants Trevino to step down, but the constable refuses.
"On behalf of my family, I want to thank the community for their overwhelming support, their prayers," Trevino said. "We've cooperated. We're going to continue to cooperate. We're going to see this through, all the way."
Trevino's next court appearance will be Jan. 9, 2013.
