Driver dies, 6 injured after SUV slams into ambulance

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

An SUV driver is dead after slamming into the back of an ambulance near Downtown Houston.

Around 4:30 a.m. Monday, emergency crews were treating a heart attack patient in the back of an ambulance on Holman and Dowling.

Police said the SUV driver was speeding when it hit the ambulance.

Five Houston Fire Department employees and the patient's relative were injured.
