Crime Stoppers of Houston and other law enforcement agencies are in need of help from the public to find a man who was charged in the January 2011 assault of his relative.
Chad Heim was charged on June 26 with assault of a family member by impeding breath and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The incident took place before 10 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2011 at a home on Rancho Grande Drive near Kettlebrook Lane in northeast Harris County.
A woman and her three-year-old daughter were asleep on a couch when investigators say Heim entered the room they were in and engaged in an argument with the woman.
After investigators say Heim placed the girl into another room, he followed the woman to the front porch, threw her to the ground and continued the fight inside the house.
The incident ended in the bedroom where the girl watched as her mother was assaulted.
Investigators say Heim placed his hands around the throat of the woman and squeezed her until it cut off her breath.
A male resident of the home had kicked in the bedroom door and intervened on the woman's behalf.
Heim also fought with the male resident until he was able to flee from the home, according to a statement released Friday by Crime Stoppers of Houston.
