Relatives defend woman arrested in child sex case

Posted: Updated:

Javonna Bradley has been vilified on social media after her arrest this week.

Here at the Harris County Criminal Courthouse, prosecutors said the 29-year-old had sex with two teenage boys and an adult male, all at the same time.

It all happened at a north Harris County apartment complex in July, investigators said.  One of the boys came forward in October.

Bradley was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child.  One boy's father was also taken into custody.  Earnest Jackson, 35, took his 16-year-old son and his 15-year-old friend to Bradley's apartment so they could have sex with her, investigators said.

"She is the victim just as well as those two boys," a woman who we will call "Sara" said.

Sara is related to Bradley.  She said Bradley should not be held responsible for what happened because Bradley is mentally slow.  She said the Bradley can barely read and spent all of her learning years in special education.  She said Johnson took advantage of Bradley.

"This is not something we should be dealing with.  We're trying to get her in the right set of mind where she is learning to read and she was going on the right track," she said.

She does not know what happened but she said she has a pretty good idea.   Again, she pointed the finger at Johnson.

"He basically planned this," she said.  "He gave her tabs.  I don't know what they are, but I know it's a drug and he also gave her liquor of that nature."

FOX 26 legal analyst Chris Tritico said if there are mental issues with Bradley, there is a good chance she could escape going to prison for sexually assaulting the two boys.

"Her mental capacity or lack thereof certainly can play a big factor in whether or not they charged her with a crime or whether or not she is convicted of a crime," Tritico said.

A Harris County Sheriff's Office representative said they were not aware of any mental issues.  If there is an issue, it will have to be worked out in court.
