Caitilin Espinosa was born in Houston, Texas, but lived in southeast Pennsylvania for a little more than a decade. The daughter of a geophysicist, Caitilin was introduced to astronomy, meteorology and geology at an early age, instilling a lifelong interest in science. Beyond her love for science, Caitilin is also an accomplished vocalist and pianist, and she has performed at the White House for former President Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton.
Caitilin returned to Texas her senior year of high school and attended Cypress Falls. Once she made it back to the Lone Star State, she was staying put! Caitilin attended the University of Houston for a year while performing with the Houston Masterworks Chorus. She then moved to Waco in 2003, graduating from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography with a concentration in Meteorology.
In 2007, Caitilin studied briefly in Mexico, and then began her professional career at KVEO-TV in Brownsville, where she was challenged with covering Hurricane Dolly; this experience laid a solid foundation for her career. In 2009, she was awarded Honorable Mention for Best Weathercast by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.
2010, Caitilin headed to KIII-TV in Corpus Christi. She started as the weekend weather anchor and weekday feature reporter. After 7 months, she was promoted to weekday morning weather anchor and the show was extended an additional half hour of airtime. The morning show received a second place award from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters. Two years in a row, Caitilin was awarded Reader's Choice by the Best of the Best in the Meteorologist/Weathercaster Category. Also while at KIII-TV, Caitilin spear-headed the first "Paws for Pets" segments, a local and daily pet adoption segment.
Caitilin Espinosa is passionate about bringing viewers the latest weather updates and believes social media allows her to connect with viewers on a different level. She also has a big heart for giving back to the community and saving animals. She has 3 adopted dogs with her husband and is overjoyed to be in her hometown.
