Posted: Updated:

An Amber Alert has been issued for an 11-year-old girl last seen in the Woodlands area.

Savannah Hurley was kidnapped by her mother when Child Protective Services came to their home around 1 p.m. Monday, the Trinity County Sheriff's Office says.

CPS was there to remove Savannah from her mother, Shelly Jean Hurley, a known drug user.  Shelly had a violent confrontation with the CPS worker and threatened to run over the worker while she left with the child.

An Amber Alert has been requested for Dallas-Fort Worth as they head toward the Dallas/Garland area.

Savannah is described as:

-- White female, 11 years old
-- Around 4'10"
-- Around 120 pounds
-- Brown hair

If know anything about Savannah's whereabouts, you are urged to call the authorities.

Police think Savannah and her mother might be in a 1996 Maroon Subaru Legacy with Alabama License plate 48738AZ
