Harris County Sheriff's Office looking for veterans to fill the gaps

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is no longer under a hiring freeze and they are looking for veterans.

"Our wounded veterans sometimes don't get through," Sheriff Adrian Garcia said.

Garcia believes wounded vets with limited mobility would work out well in the communication and dispatch center.  They are hiring for other positions will like detention officers and nurses.

He said veterans, especially wounded veterans, will get priority consideration.
