Texas A&M football player found safe, Coach responds

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Texas A&M University says a missing player has been found safe.

Texas A&M campus police just released a new statement that said Thomas Johnson, 18, found with the help of the Dallas police department Thursday morning around 2:30 a.m.

Johnson, was last seen leaving his off campus College Station home Monday night.

Police believe Johnson may have gone to see family and friends in the Dallas area, but no one up there has heard from him.

Aggie head coach Kevin Sumlin released the following statement:

"We are pleased and relieved to find T.J.," Aggie head football coach Kevin Sumlin said. "Our foremost concern is for the health and well being of T.J. I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and efforts in locating him."

Johnson, a top recruit out of Skyline high school in Dallas, has starred as a true freshman.

He ranks third on the team with 339 yards and a touchdown on 30 catches.
