The 29 homeless men and women who have found shelter at a Southwest Houston Church must now leave.
As we reported, New Deliverance has been housing the homeless since 1993, but the city said the building is unsafe and needs to be brought up to fire code.
"I feel like I'm letting them down because usually if I fight on my knees hard enough, God always comes through. I don't know what to do," New Deliverance Pastor Janice Caslin said.
The only way the homeless can remain at New Deliverance is if 11 windows are built into the sleeping areas. The windows have been donated but the church needs a contractor to install them.
