The nation's economy may be struggling, but Houston remains critical to the global economy.
That's according to France's ambassador to the US here Tuesday to show support for a cultural partnership.
French and Houston-based artists are collaborating to paint symbolic doors that will go on display around the city. France and the US face tough times, but Ambassador Francois Delattre says this art project strengthens our economic ties.
"On the cultural front but also on the economic front, cross investment is booming between Houston and France. We French are the third largest foreign investors in Texas and in particular, here in Houston."
Professional artists, along with student teams from around the city, will paint 60 doors. French artists paint one side. Houston artists paint the other.
