
A man serving in the United States Marine Corps was arrested in Guam and is in custody in the Harris County Jail over a reported case of child sexual abuse.
Investigators say George Christopher Aragon, 22, sexually assaulted a girl over a period of several years; that girl is now a teen.
Harris County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit investigators sought to charge Aragon with continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Aragon was stationed in Japan but investigators with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders & Fugitive Task Force determined he was on temporarily assigned to an airbase in Guam.
The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders & Fugitive Task Force includes the Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies and deputy U.S. Marshals.
Task Force investigators, with help from deputy US Marshals in Guam and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, arrested Aragon in Guam.
Aragon was extradited to Houston and placed into custody at the Harris County Jail on Tuesday on a $50,000 bond.
