Couple behind bars after dogs found abandoned

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

A couple is in Galveston County Jail after police found four dogs abandoned in their Penske moving truck.

Sunday night, deputies arrested 36-year-old Joseph Bakkedahl and his wife, 44-year-old Joan Fisher.

Bakkedahl told police about the abandoned truck and animal control investigators found four yorkshire terrier dogs in dirty crates.

The couple is now charged with animal cruelty.
