More are crowding around the seat of late Texas state senator Mario V. Gallegos, Jr.

Texas State Representative Carol Alvarado is now running.  Monday, she made the announcement beside Gallegos' family.

Gallegos passed away in October, just weeks before being reelected.

Alvarado will run against former Harris County commissioner Sylvia Garcia, Republican R.W. Bray and former state representative Yolanda Flores in January's special election.
