HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
Both sides have rested in the case of a former home daycare owner charged in the deaths of four children.
Prosecutors say Jessica Tata left the children alone while she went shopping. A pot of oil cooking on the stove went up in flames.
Tata's attorney argues the stove sometimes had problems when being shut off. A defense expert claims the fire could have been started by a faulty refrigerator.
The jury will be off Friday while attorneys discuss the final instructions to be given to the jury.
Closing arguments are set for Monday.
The jury will be sequestered during deliberations. If convicted, Tata faces up to life in prison.
