Man battling HOA captures feud on tape

Posted: Updated:
HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

"I just had a sneaking suspicion that things were going to come flying over the fence."

And that's exactly what Jerry Kronenthal said he captured on video.  It's not the first time Kronenthal said trash suddenly appeared on his lawn.

"I would do my yard.  I'd come out on the other side and just find piles and piles of trash," said Kronenthal.

This time Kronenthal believes he caught the culprit in the act, his next door neighbor, Vicki Jaeger.

"Why you throwing stuff over my fence, huh?  I'm asking you.  You can't answer that for me?" Kronenthal is heard asking his neighbor on the video.

"I have video of you throwing it over my fence, so I'm wondering why you're doing that.  Vicki can you answer that?" Rosenthal asked.  "Interesting that I caught it on video that things are flying over my fence and you're standing outside."

What you're witnessing is just another feud between Kronenthal and his next door neighbors, Ken and Vicki Yeager.  Ken Yeager is president of the Ponderosa Village Homeowners Association.  In fact Kronenthal and Kim Dunn are surrounded by HOA board members.

"All eyes on me," Kronenthal said.

And when the HOA board of directors look at the couple and the home, they share they don't like what they see.

"They're screaming at Jerry all the time," Dunn said. "They're always telling him he's crazy.  He has a mental problem."

Kronenthal has spent a huge amount of time filing open records requests and flying off e-mails to get as much information as he can from the homeowner association.

He's received over 30 letters from the HOA board and their attorney for violating restrictions that Kronenthal argues aren't really in the HOA's covenants.

"I received violations for a chair being in my front yard," Kronenthal said. "I received a violation for having my boat parked in front of my house."

Leaves are a big bone of contention in this neighborhood.

"When I do my yard they're upset that maybe a leaf or two might fall on their property," Kronenthal said.

And Krontenthal's leaves are apparently the reason Jeager says on the video she threw trash into his yard.

"Do you think this is ok?" Yeager is heard screaming at Kronenthal on the video.

"I have no idea what you're talking about, what this is," Kronethal replied.

"Trashing out our yard," screams Yeager.

The trash talk turns even trashier.

"You're a weirdo," Yeager said to Kronenthal.

"Oh I'm a weirdo," Kronenthal replied.

"We don't talk to Jerry because you're a fool," Ken Yeager said to Kronenthal.

"You have mental problems," Vicki Yeager said to Kronenthal who replied, "I have mental problems? who throws trash over people's fences."

FOX 26 Investigates knocked on the Yeager's door to see what they had to say about Kronethal's claim that the HOA is picking on him.

"What do you believe?" Ken Yeager said.

We point out that all we know is what Kronenthal has to say about the situation and we are there to see what the Yeager's want to say about it.

"I have nothing to say," Yeager said.

The HOA's annual board meeting is that night but Yeager told us we are not invited.  Of course the HOA annual meeting that night didn't go off without a hitch.  After Kronenthal showed up wanting to record the meeting a scuffle ensued and the cops had to be called.  One HOA board member got a misdemeanor charge of assault by contact.

The HOA rescheduled this meeting but wouldn't let Kronenthal attend.  Once again the cops were called and Kronenthal was arrested for disrupting a meeting.  He said he plans to fight that misdemeanor charge and file suit against his HOA.
