HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
Harris County reported record turnouts for early voting.
Many people were eager to exercise their civic duty and regardless of Tuesday night's outcome, many Houstonians told us they know their vote counted.
"Everybody's vote matters. I'm disappointed in how it turned out, but I voted and I'm glad I did and my children voted and that is all we can do is just vote."
"After so long for many, many years, I never vote, but this is the second time in my life. I've voted so this is really nice."
The way America votes is changing. Millions took advantage of early voting and mail-in absentee ballots. In some states, a third or more ballots were cast well before Election Day.
