Parents of an 11-year-old boy were concerned for much of Wednesday morning as deputies searched for their son. They were greeted with good news after he was found safe and an Amber Alert issued in the boy's disappearance was canceled.
The Amber Alert was issued after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for Richard Redland after his parents contacted the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office before 6 a.m. Wednesday. His parents reported missing when they could not find him inside the Katy-area home.
Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constables also helped in the search for Redland.
The family was already distraught since the boy's grandmother had died on Monday.
