NEEDVILLE, Texas (FOX 26) -

A Needville-area resident was taken to Fort Bend County Jail after an argument led to a shooting incident.

Francisco Hernandez, 41, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The shooting took place around 4 p.m. Sunday near Hernandez's home on Old Yeller Road near Baker Road.

The person who was shot told Fort Bend County deputies that he was visiting a friend on the block where Hernandez lives and that Hernandez began to yell at him.

Hernandez told deputies he fired his shotgun into the ground, but deputies say the visitor was injured by the shotgun blast and treated for his injuries by Fort Bend Emergency Medical Services and refused to be taken to a hospital.

Hernandez remains in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail where a bond amount of $30,000 has been set for him. If he posts bond, Hernandez is prohibited from contacting the shooting victim or approaching him.
