A woman is charged with running over two children while they were trick-or-treating in North Houston.

Police said Katherine Sanford, 53, hit an 11-year-old boy and his six-year-old sister as they crossed the street at Sweetwater and Saddle Rock on Wednesday night.

A witness said Sanford tried to leave after the crash, but bystanders stopped her.

The boy is in the hospital with a broken leg. His sister was treated for minor injuries.

Sanford is charged with DWI and driving with a suspended license.
