Copper theft cancels girls softball games

Posted: Updated:
HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Softball is canceled after someone stole around $200,000 worth of copper wiring from a Kingwood ball field.

The theft happened Wednesday in the 4300 block of Woodland Hill Drive, the Kingwood Girls Softball Association said.

Because so many of the games are at night, KGSA had to cancel them.  The playoffs were to happen this weekend.

The organization is non-profit, so many of the parents will have to pay for the repairs out of pocket.

If you have any information on who did this, call the authorities.
