Services: A Fisher House™ is "a home away from home" for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one during the
hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. Eligibility and costs: Fisher Houses offer respite to the families of veterans who do not live within commuting
distance of a U.S. military hospital or VA medical center. Criteria established locally by hospital. There are no room fees at Fisher Houses operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Services: Provides Texas veterans with loans for land, housing, and home improvement.
The Veterans Housing Assistance Program (VHAP) provides financing up to $325,000 toward the purchase of a home to qualified Texas veterans.
The Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) will lend eligible Texas veterans up to $25,000 for up to 20 years on a fixedrate note to make substantial repairs to their existing primary residence. No down payment is required. The Texas
Veterans Land Board (VLB) will purchase the tract of land in which you are interested directly from the seller. The VLB then resells the land to you by a 30-year contract of sale.
