Richmond police find a man hiding in a vehicle after they say he burglarized it and two other vehicles.
Officers arrived around 5:35 a.m. Thursday to Carver Avenue near Pultar Road in response to a reported burglary of a motor vehicle and heard dogs barking near one of the homes on the block.
Witnesses told Richmond police they saw the burglar exit their van and try to break into another vehicle outside their home.
After the burglar entered a third vehicle that was parked in the rear of the home, police found him inside the vehicle and took him into custody.
Police later identified the suspect as Reginald Todd Kiser, 20, who lived a few blocks away from the home where the vehicles were burglarized.
Officers found a car radio in the waistband of the pants Kiser wore and also determined he was in possession of marijuana, according to a statement released Thursday by the Richmond Police Department.
Kiser was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone. Both violations are classified as Class A misdemeanors. He was taken to Fort Bend County Jail where a bond amount will be determined.
