Academy leaks new Astros logo, apologizes

HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

The new Houston Astros logo wasn't supposed to be unveiled yet.

Academy Sports and Outdoors is apologizing to the Astros for mistakenly putting new merchandise on the shelves a little too soon.

Academy said a limited number of products with the new Astros logo were put on the sales floor in a few stores but were quickly removed.

The Astros are planning to officially unveil new uniforms, along with the new logo during a special launch party at Minute Maid Park a week from Friday.
