As Houston's and the nation's Latin community grows, so does the group's social and economic influence.
Its spending power is about $1 trillion and women are often the ones holding the purse strings.
Latina media mogul Nely Galan is helping those women harness their economic power through a series of seminars that stop in Houston this weekend.
"Adelante" is designed to connect women with programs that can help them grow as entrepreneurs.
"So I'm not just going out there and starting from scratch. These are women that are already on the road. They just need that little extra push. They need that little bit of information to take their game to a whole other level," Galan said.
"Adelante" is free to attend and will be held at the Hyatt Downtown Houston on Saturday.
