The Houston Texans are encouraging children to get fit.
Tuesday, the team's entire rookie class joined forced with the United Way to play with children at Discovery Green.
The players and kids played tug-of-war and had potato sack races. The idea was to show them that exercise can be fun.
"This is a great way to actually get them out of the house, get off the couch and stop eating those nasty snacks and stay active and get fit," rookie outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus said.
The community service event is part of the NFL's "Play 60" initiative. It encourages kids to spend at least an hour every day engaged in physical activity.
