As they walk the crowded halls of Bellaire High School, you might not notice the resemblance.
Lindsey and Andrew share the same parents, the same birthday and a great deal more.
"It's just a lot of fun having a twin," Andrew said.
"I'm lucky," Lindsey said, chiming in.
Their last name is Alter, as in "alter ego" - kind of a cool co-incidence considering how close they are.
"Some people like having an older sibling to learn from, but I kind of like having someone to experience it with me as we learn together," Andrew said.
"I want him to succeed always. He wants me to succeed, so we always help each other out," Lindsey added.
It's a sibling a partnership that's paying a pretty nice premium given that both Bellaire High School seniors have just been named National Merit semi-finalists, a qualification almost certain to lock up plenty of scholarship cash for college.
"We definitely help each other. He's my permanent study buddy," Lindsey said.
"Yeah, I'm happy I'll be able to start life not in debt," Andrew said.
Turns out both Alters want to be Doctors. That's no surprise to their teachers who say the twins have brought a great deal more than intellect to the Bellaire table.
"They are always reaching out to other students and helping them. They are the kind of true leaders everybody wants to follow. They brought everybody up to their level," chemistry teacher Lorna VanDeWie said.
