Clayton County police are looking for the vandals who used a sledgehammer to trash a Morrow skating rink.
The break-in forced the popular family spot to close Thursday after phone lines were cut and video games destroyed.
The owners say vandals used heavy tools like a sledge hammer or crowbar to cut through sheet metal and concrete at the Skate Zone.
"This was malicious. This to me was not a typical break-in. You'd have to seen the condition of everything in here. It looked like somebody was being mean and breaking things and just being destructive," said Pinksy.
Debra Phillips and her husband have owned the skating rink on Mt. Zion Boulevard for seven years. She said that she thinks the break-in was vicious and personal.
"It looked like a bomb had gone off inside our business," she said. "It was just a mess, stuff broken and torn apart."
The vandals walked out with a safe, a TV, recording devices, and thousands of dollars in cash, among other things.
"These people that did this, if they can be caught, need to be caught and they need to be prosecuted to whatever the utmost of the law," said Phillips.
Despite all the damage and thousands of dollars lost, the owners were determined to open up on Friday for fall break in Clayton County.
The Phillips say with all the customers they had to turn away and the damaged and stolen equipment, the total loss of the burglary will reach a minimum of $40,000.
