HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Anyone concerned about having contracted HIV will have the opportunity to be tested at no cost for the virus that can lead to being diagnosed with AIDS.

The Latino HIV Task Force will offer the free HIV tests on Saturday, Oct. 13 as part of National Latino AIDS Awareness Day.

The testing will be available on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA) office on 6001 Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston.

Members of the task force include health agencies and community-based organizations that administer HIV and AIDS prevention programs or medical treatment. HDHHS formed the task force in 2002 to educate and raise awareness of HIV, AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases among Hispanics.
