No injuries have been reported after a pickup truck caught fire and spread to a home in northwest Harris County.
Firefighters with the Northwest Volunteer Fire Department arrived around 9 p.m. to find the house and Ford F-150 in flames on Briarwood Forest Drive near Moonlight Forest Drive.
After they made a fast attack on the fire, firefighters were able to get the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to the interior of the home.
Firefighters determined the F-150 burst into flames, possibly because of a cruise control malfunction that was the subject of a vehicle recall.
Another car parked nearby had almost caught on fire, but someone was able to move it away from the flames.
A family that lived in the home was able to escape safely from the burning home.
