More questions than answers after a bizarre series of events on the Katy Freeway that left one woman dead, another injured and a man on the run.
What police do know is that Thursday evening just before 9 p.m. a man was traveling west bound on the Katy freeway with two women inside his Dodge Magnum.
For some reason the man started shooting at the women inside the car while traveling down the road.
Police say one of the women, left the vehile while it was moving around Westgreen Blvd. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Questions police are still trying to determine did she jump or was she pushed from the car.
Police say the second woman either jumped or was pushed from the vehicle as well.
She was hit and run over by several vehicles. The force of that impact left her body dismembered.
Police say they don't know if she was already dead when she left the moving vehicle.
The driver of the car clipped the back of a flat bed 18 wheeler, spinning out of control and skidding into the grassy median in the middle of the freeway.
The suspect then jumped out and ran from the scene. The Katy Freeway was shut down for nine hours while Houston Homicide detectives gathered evidence and talked with witnesses.
The freeway reopened around 5:30 a.m. Friday morning.
Police are still searching for the driver and what relationship the man had with the two women in the car.
