Police are searching for two men who robbed a Trudy's Hallmark Shop in Sugar Land.
The robbery took place around 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the store on the Southwest Freeway frontage road near Williams Trace Boulevard.
The two men approached the pay counter to purchase a greeting card, waited for the clerk to open the cash register, then told the store employees that they were carrying weapons, according to a statement released by the Sugar Land Police Department.
The men took money from the cash register and merchandise from a display rack before fleeing from the store parking lot in a white Toyota Corolla. They never displayed any weapons and no injuries were reported.
Police describe one of the robbers as a heavy-set man with dark skin, who stands at a height of almost 6-feet tall, between 40 and 45 years old. He wore a white t-shirt, khaki pants and a red cap.
The other robber is Hispanic with a thin build, stands at a height of almost 5-feet 7-inches tall, between 30 and 34 years old with a thin mustache and tattoos on both arms. He wore a maroon short-sleeved button-down shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
