Elderly couple died in murder-suicide, HPD says

Police have learned an elderly couple died in an apparent murder-suicide at their west Houston home.

Officers found the bodies of Michael and Gertrude Companion inside their bedroom of their home in the 14300 block of Carolcrest Street, Houston Police say.

Investigators believe Michael, 71, shot and killed Gertrude, 72, around 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 3.  He then shot himself.

There were no signs of forced entry.
