Blessing of the animals

Houston, Texas(FOX26)--  Hundreds of dogs, cats and other two and four legged creatures made their way to a special blessing Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church.

The "blessing of the animals" is a ceremony carried out around the world.   The pet receive a blessing from a priest or pastor.

The annual fall event honors Saint Francis of Assisi, who is known as the patron Saint of animals.
