Focusing on our forces tonight....
We follow a Marine who is now back home in Houston and meeting his daughter for the first time.
"With the marines you miss so much with your family and so to be able to have this is a big deal," said mother of the marine, Tina Garza.
"Oh it's been driving me crazy, my sister in law was counting down the days...and she has no idea what's going on," said the marine's wife, Melissa Dominguez.
Melissa is a barrel full of emotions....waiting to greet her husband of 3 years.
"I'm nervous, we haven't seen him in a long time, the last time he saw me I was 8 months pregnant," said Melissa.
And this time......she carries their 1 year old daughter Kaydence....and a sign that says "Welcome home daddy, I have waited my whole life to meet you!"
It was a very special moment.....as Marine David Dominguez meets his daughter for the first time.
David has been away from home for over a year....deployed to Japan for a year....and 3 months spent in North Carolina for school and training.
"It's just hard trying to see your kid on a computer, can't meet her. It's hard but the reward is good too. I didn't know what I would do or what was going to happen," said David.
Finally he is home....with plenty of welcoming hugs from Melissa….
"I wear glasses so I couldn't see him too good until he got close," said Melissa.
His mom Tina....
"This is a huge event in our life and his life, and he's missed so much with her for a whole year…her birth, her learning to sit up and crawl and walk and she's exactly like him and she's a spitting image of him," said Tina.
And his blonde haired baby sister.
Not so welcoming....his daughter.
"She told me that she doesn't like strangers, I was hoping maybe she would come to me, but it didn't happen," said David.
But finally after a couple of tries.....Kaydence gives in....and lets her dad hold her....for the very first time.
